The International White Scar Center, in collaboration with the Taiwan Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, has officially designated June 29th as "International White Scar Day." The goal is to raise global awareness about White Scars, eliminate them from patients' faces, and help those with cleft lip and palate rebuild their lives and face society with renewed confidence.
Dr. Song-Yuan Chang, Chairman of the Taiwan Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, emphasized that the significance of International White Scar Day lies in empowering cleft lip and palate patients to reintegrate into society and embrace life anew. He further expressed that this initiative should extend to all individuals struggling with scars, providing them an opportunity to improve their lives through reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Su-Ben Tsao, in honor of the Master of White Scar Treatment, Dr. Noordhoff, and his lifelong dedication, has pledged to fulfill Dr. Noordhoff’s wish to erase White Scars from patients' faces and offer them a chance to rebuild their lives. The choice of June 29th for International White Scar Day is particularly meaningful, as it coincides with Dr. Noordhoff’s birthday.
The Taiwan Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the International White Scar Center have established International White Scar Day to awaken both domestic and global awareness of White Scar conditions and the emotional wounds they inflict. This day not only continues Dr. Noordhoff’s legacy but also aims to support the many patients whose White Scars reveal deeply personal past traumas they wish to keep hidden.
Dr. Su-Ben Tsao stated that the spirit of "Love Makes Whole" is to "Love Passes On," helping White Scar patients regain their confidence, transform their lives, and further advance research and treatment for White Scars.
